MIRACLES ARE REAL

hi family!

i hope you all had a great week because we did! i feel like i say every week is good... but they are. i'm serious. idk how it works but it does :)

weekly highlights:

1. theee storm: oh my gosh. so we got these calls warning us of this storm that was supposed to come last week. so we were pumped bc duh that would be kinda cool to have a big storm. well... it didn't happen and we were driving back from indiana when all the sudden the sky just gets BLACK. like no joke. black. literally black. and started raining and i couldn't see anything. it was scary. thought we were gonna die for a second but we didnt so its all chill :)

2. sister probs: HAHA so we were walking out of save a lot the other day and this guy was walking in and he had on this shirt that said dopest. just to paint you a picture lol and he goes "hey what's your name?" and we turn around and go whaaaat? and he's all "you a pretty girl whasss your name?" and im like bro imma missionary. and he's all "imma missionary too i like to get spiritual" and so we just walked away. LOLOLOL scared for my life tbh.

miracles:

since our teaching is kinda slow right now, i wanted to share some miracles we've had instead!

1. media referral: so it's been a long while since we've gotten a media referral. so sister peel and i prayed for one this week. and we got one! so we went to go contact this guy, shaun, and he told us how his friends requested a BOM for him as a prank. lol k....... but we still talked about it with him and left him with a copy and he told us to come back next week :) so hopefully that goes well. but even if it doesn't, it's okay because it was just another reminder that heavenly father DOES hear our prayers and answer them.

2. heather: she is finally progressing! YAY! she prayed about the BOM and feels like she hasn't received an answer yet becuase she needs to be more sincere. so she said how this week she is going to read a chapter and pray and see what happens. she has such a strong desire to know and is going to do everything to get an answer. such a miracle because we haven't had a progressing investigator in a long time! so we're so thankful and excited for heather!

miracles are so real, it's not even funny! God makes things happen for us even when they seem so impossible. He is there and if you ever doubt that, kneel and ask if he is!

NEW CARS AND GETTING FAT LOL

okay um hello fam! i just talked to you guys yesterday, which was super fun and im glad that everything is going well back home. it makes me happy!

so this week was good. sister peel and i are working hard. the work is slow, honestly, but we're just pushing on :)

weekly highlights:

1. corn hole: so the strawsers have a corn hole game which is like the best thing ever. mom and dad you have to get one!!!!!! so we played that with the elders this week and beat them. hashtag it's whatever. 

2. fav holiday: so it was cinco de mayo this week. you all had better celebrated it. we had mexican food twice that day. lunch and dinner. life goalz. amirite. probs the best day of my entire life.

3. fav people: THE MOORES CAME TO VISIT! holy what. it was so great. i love them so much. we went to this pizza place and just talked and got caught up on lyfe, obvi. dennis (my rc) is still progressing so well, which makes me super happy. and the best part is that they brought us TWO QUARTS of lix. all the way from potosi. thats true love right there. it was the best day!

4. new car!!!: kinda. lolol so we switched cars with the elders! bc they didn't like their cruze and we didn't like the fusion so we swapped. and I LOVE THE CRUZE SO MUCH. it's so fun bc we feel like we have a new car now haha

teaching:

1. sherri: we read 1 nephi 8 with her. she liked it! it's the tree of life chapter, btw, which is such a good one! oh and miracle moment. so she said she would pray about the bom!!!!!! that night! that's such a miracle bc she refused to pray about it for the longest time. we talked about how she needs to get that knowledge for herself and how God wants her to know. go sherri!!!

2. stephanie: we picked her up this week! she is the sister of a recent convert, and she just turned 8 :) she is adorable and wants to be baptized so bad! so hopefully within the next few weeks, she will be baptized, which is exciting.

3. sister white: so she is a less active we've been working with. so anyway... another miracle! we had such a good lesson with her. she wants us to help her get active and to the temple. yay! so we're gonna give her small goals each week to do. so this week her goal was to read 1 nephi 3. im so pumped about her!

so overall, it was a great week! I've been studying the Christlike attribute of dilligence this week and it has been so good for me. something that has stood out to me is that in the work of salvation, God needs people on his team who are not only going to do work, but who are going to do work JOYFULLY and with a good attitude. so often we get consumed with our callings and day to day things that we fail to find the JOY in it. and im a big believer in having fun while serving the Lord. just ask my companion :) haha so this week, remember to have FUN while you are in the service of Heavenly Father.

SO MY DISTRICT LEADER...

lol i didn't know what to title this so i let my dl do it for me...

okay real talk can you believe it's may??? holy wut even happened where did the year go its like i went to bed and woke up and all the sudden it's may 2. TIME FLIES.

so anyway..... this week was good! we just keep pushing along here in danville :)

weekly highlights:

1. so we visit this little old lady every week and she made us lunch this week haha it was like the most random lunch of my life. we each had a chicken tender, a hash brown, and like five carrots hahahah oh and some strawberry jello. which in my past life i would probs not have eaten bc i dont like fruity things but i did. MY MISSION HAS CHANGED ME HAHA #blessed

2. sister peel and i went to the mall. lol it's not even a mall. there's like five stores!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but it's chill. 

weekly miracles:

so we didn't teach very many lessons this week, but we did have a lot of miracles and I'll share a few.

1. so we were in covington and wanted to try this former. so we go to their house and it turns out they moved, but the new people told us they lived on the corner of a certain street. so we go to this street and there's four houses on this street. haha so.......... we decided to pray about which house was the right one and we felt prompted to try this certain house. turns out it was the right house! they weren't interested in learning more, BUT we found the right house which is a miracle. we were super grateful!

2. we met this girl at the ymca because we do service there and felt prompted to share the gospel with her. so we brought it up and soon  became friends with her. well we gave her a card with our number and church address and she was like "i want to come to church! would mother's day be a good day to go or no?" and we were like "YES! that would be a great day!" hahaha we are so pumped. she is so prepared! such a miracle!!!!!

the work is kind of slow in our area right now,  but it's okay. we are working hard and trying our best and that's all we can do!

this past week we tracted into a man who is baptist and he told us how above the door of his church there's a sign that you see as you're walking out that says: 

YOU ARE NOW ENTERING THE MISSION FIELD.

i love that so much! that sign should be placed over each of our front doors... maybe not literally but we should have it in our minds and hearts that when we leave our homes, we are entering the mission field, whether or not we have a tag on.

this week was good! we worked hard and we are pretty tired but that's a good thing, i guess!

weekly highlights:

1. exchanges: i got to stay in danville with sister day! it was so fun. i LOVE EXCHANGES! my stls are always so great. i have loved them all. they are all such big examples to me. we had so much fun!

2. president interviews: we got to see president and sister morgan this week! i love them so much. they are my favorite! i'm going to be sad when they have to leave. 

3. chill: okay so funny story. we were talking to the elders at their apartment and they decided to get on the roof and jump off. lol long story short, one of them went to the hospital to get stitches yay! hahahahahhahaa but then they brought us ice cream that night. they're so nice. hashtag dont jump off roofs.

teaching:

1. abrion: we taught her about repentance. it was so good. we went over the steps of repentance and she really liked it. we also read the bom with her this week and she liked that.

2. sherri: we read the bom :) okay this is totally working! so usually we have to bring up that it's time to read the bom, but this week, she initiated it! WUT! she told us how she didn't read but wanted to know if we were still gonna read. so we did, duh! i'm seeing her heart soften slowly, which is a miracle YAY!

we are working hard here in danville! i love being a part of this work! it changes my life everyday.

(Letter sent April 18, 2016)

okay i am slacking and didn't know what to title this email lol sns. 

okaaaayyyyy this week was supa good! i <3 danville.

highlights:

1. halfway transfer: this is my half way transfer on my mission. WUT IS LYFE. idk but it's cray. so sista peel and i are both staying here obvi and then we got a new dl! elder hubner. he's chill so it will be a fun transfer. 

2. awkward life: okay so we were doing service at the elder's gator's house and she wanted to say a prayer with us so we go to fold our arms and she's like "no no no we gotta hold hands!" and i was sitting next to my dl and i was like uhhhhhhhhhhhhh can i not or? lol so ya i held my dl's hand. it's whatever. #disobedient #JK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

teaching:

1. heather: we went over the resto with her. she remembered a lot of it. she had a lot of questions about the priesthood, which was cool. we invited her to pray to know about the bom again :) i totally know that once she knows it's true, she'll progress so fast. 

2. alleyna: we watched the resto dvd with them and they loved it! the spirit was definitely there. we invited alleyna and also her mom and sister to pray about teh bom :) that's the first step! so hopefully we can start making good progress with all of them!

3. sherri: we are starting to read the bom with her every week and i think that's going to be the key for her... reading and knowing the bom is true so that everything else can fall into place. she totally loves the bom and is totally gonna accept the gospel one day eeeep!

so ya this week was super good! i love being a missionary so much. it's truly the greatest thing i have ever done in my life. i'm so grateful everyday for everything i'm able to learn and humbled at how much the Lord truly does for us each and every day.
