TURN UP

Hiiiiii fam.

I hope you all had a bomb week, because WE DID!

Weekly highlights:

1. Zone Conference: oh my gosh I want Zone Conference every week of my life. So much spiritualness being thrown at you it's so fun! The main focus was on repentance and teaching it to our investigators. Basically I've been teaching repentance wrong my whole mission hahahaha but that's why we have trainings! It was so good. Also my favorite quote from Zone Conf: *one of the ap's* "If we could all please TURN UP to Alma 53... I mean turn TO, turn to..." Smooth. lol
2. Exchanges: I love exchanges! I got to go to Springfield with Sister Furniss! She leaves in a few weeks which is super sad. She's so cool. We had lots of fun and I haven't laughed that hard in a long time hashtag tender mercy.
3. I got to go to Indiana so that's fun!

Teaching highlights:

1. Stephen: HE GOT BAPTIZED! It was so awesome. He was so pumped. I'm so proud of him. Even though he really doesn't understand a whole lot about the gospel since he's 9, he does know that he needs to follow Christ. That's the most important thing! He will be such a great member of the church and a great missionary one day :)
2. Shaniah, Za'nyra, Isaiah: we have been teaching them the Articles of Faith each week. So this week we did number 3! And we taught them it in Walmart!!!!!! I never thought I would be teaching the gospel in a Walmart but I did. Yay cross that one off my bucket list haha
3. Arianna: she is 10 and is excited to be baptized too! We taught her the Gospel of Jesus Christ and set a baptism date for April 10 :) I love all these kids that I get to teach. It's so fun!

That was our week! I love getting to read Conference talks every morning. They put me in such a great mood. So if you haven't started, start today and read one a day. It will make you happy :)

Okay I hope you all have a great week! Go watch the new Easter video on lds.org
It's bomb.

#HUGLYFE

What's gooooood?
This week went by so fast idk what even happened lol... it was a good week though!

Weekly highlights:

1. laundry4dayz: we helped Bernice (recent convert) do laundry while we studied the temple book haha she had all these clothes in storage so it took literally like 3 hours to do all her laundry. It was crazyyy. We were all so tired after because she lives on the second floor so we had to carry all the laundry up to her apartment after washing it #workout4life
2. Primary goes wild: so all the primary leaders except two were gone so they asked us to help out in primary. Sister Peel and I did sharing time and you know you've done a bad job when the kids can't even remember what you talked about 5 minutes later hashtag fail. But you shoulda seen the elders do singing time. Idk which was funnier. Afterwards I was like dude I need a nap stat lol so much more respect for all you primary leaders out there🙌

Teaching:

1. Sherri: she is one of our investigator's and she's in her 70's probably. We were talking about the restoration with her but she kept asking random questions but then she asked why it's important that we follow ONE path if we're all going to heaven anyway. So we read 2 Nephi 31:5 and talked about following Christ's example and being baptized. She said that when she comes to know that everything is true that she will get baptized! Yay! It was super cool because we really had to listen to her in that lesson to know what her concerns were.
2. Nici and Lina: we taught the restoration and it was so good! They KNOW this is true. They will be baptized. It's just a matter of time! They just need some major loving into this church which they will get. They're so awesome and have been so prepared. The whole time we were teaching, you could just see the Spirit working and everything was clicking with them. So so so cool.
3. Stephen: he finna get dunked on Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get pumped get pumped! He's so precious. We got his baptism plans all made and he's ready to go! He always talks about how he wants to be a missionary and he will be such a good missionary one day :) He reminds me sooo much of Brett. His favorite basketball player is Steph Curry and he and Brett just have the same personalities. I found the Illinois version of Brett ;)

That's about it for the week! It was super good and this week will be so fun, too. We get to have Zone Conference tomorrow which we are pumped about!

I hope you are all getting excited for General Conference! I've been reading a talk a day to prepare and you should too :) There are so many good ones.

I love you all and hope you have a great week!

HEY BAE YOU FINNA BE DUNKED SOON

(Letter sent February 29, 2016)

ohhhhhhhhhhhh myyyyyyyyyyy.

I'm in Danville! It's been kind of a crazy week but it's been good! Danville is pretty much the exact opposite of Potosi lol...... so yeah..... but it's been fun to experience different things :)

Weekly highlights:
1. Jillian lied: okay so like on Wednesday, all the cars were grounded in the mission because of snow. So we decided that we were gonna walk to some appointments right? So... I'm like "hey Sister Peel how far away do these people live?" and she said like 8 minutes so I'm like k chilllllll we can walk there no problem. HAHAHA. Biggest mistake of my life. We start walking and there's like a small blizzard just casually happening and there's like at least 6 inches of snow on the ground so it's kinda hard to walk in. It took us an hour and a half to walk to our appointments hahahahahahahahaha so after the appointment we were done and the next day, my hips were SO SORE. Like that should not happen ever. I've been doing Jillian videos everday so like.... I should be fit...... it was so sad. Starting Danville off with a bang.
2. Okay everyone here says bae and finna for their normal vocab. I was like Sister Peel! I FOUND MY PEOPLE. hahahahhahahaha like the kids too! Everyone's just always like "I finna get a bike soon" or "bae your dad finna be here to get you" or "we finna eat dinner" like what??!!!!!!!!!!
3. SIX MONTHS AKA BIG LEAGUES LOL: okay I made it to 6 months. I remember waiting fooorrreeevvveeerrr to hit my 2 month mark and here I am #startedfromthebottom Sister Peel and I went and got donuts obviously because we had to celebrate!

Teaching:
1. Stephen: okay he's my favorite. He is 9 and is the grandson of one of our recent convert's. He has a dunk date for March 12 eeeeep! He is adorable and loves the gospel so much. We taught him a bunch of the commandments this week and he told us that when he goes to church he "feels safe and happy!" Okay my heart was just like melting a little tbh. He also told us that he can't wait to be a missionary. Thassss right. He's my new little bff.
2. Terisa: Terisa's kids just got baptized but we are still teaching her. She is a little more stubborn but she'll get there eventually! We talked about the priesthood and it was so cool to see her young kids help us teach about the priesthood. They were saying how they were able to get baptized because of the priesthood and I was like yesssss! It was super cute.
3. Nici and Lina: a mom and daughter that have met with the missionaries a lot in the past. Sister Tuprin and Sister Peel picked them back up last week. So yesterday we watched the Prophet of the Restoration movie with them which was sooo good. You can't watch that movie and not feel the spirit! The Spirit was really strong and they both committed to pray and ask if Joseph Smith was a prophet of God.

Okay I know my mom is gonna want more details of the area so I'll give some real quick ;)

The ward is pretty small. Smaller than Farmington Ward was. There are a lot of really good, solid families though which is such a blessing!

We share a ward with Elders. They cover the south side of Danville (aka the more sketchy areas so mom, you can sleep well haha) and we cover the north! I love sharing wards! It's so fun!

Part of Indiana is in our area so that's cool.

It's not as small town as Potosi.... there's a TJ Maxx. Wut is lyfe. This is basically a big city!

Oh and there are other Sisters in our district so that's fun!

Okay that's all I could think of to tell you but basically it's a good area and I'm excited to serve here for a while! :)

I hope you all have a great week.
